Daisy's Story
Our co-founder, Rosie, discovered the power of nutrition firsthand. When her dog, Daisy, was diagnosed with severe liver and kidney toxins at age 16, Rosie turned to fresh, human-grade foods. Daisy made a stunning recovery and lived to 18.5, proving the profound impact of wholesome nutrition.
The Mission: From Classroom to Compost
Inspired by Daisy's journey and a desire to tackle food waste, Rosie partnered with Princesa during an MBA entrepreneurship class. They combined their love for pets with a commitment to sustainability, creating a solution to turn nutritious, overlooked produce into healthy dog treats.
Our Momentum
Our concept has been recognized for its innovation and potential:
-
2024 Victories: We won our class pitch competition and earned Best Team and Best MVP at our university’s New Venture Fair (out of 60 teams).
-
UpPup is proudly supported by two Dorfman Incubator Grants from California Lutheran University.
Daisy’s legacy fuels our mission: creating nutritious, sustainable treats that support pet health while fighting food waste.
